Walla Walla Vacation Rentals |
The arts are treasured in Walla Walla, from the foundry that casts sculptors' artistry into products, to a wide selection of music provided at the Summer Sounds on the Plaza downtown. Because of the almost year-round sunshine, festivals have a perfect environment in which to thrive - from May to December the area is totally geared up for fun. Walla Walla Music spotlights local musicians and the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Blues Fest promotes local blues bands, food and crafts. And, of course the most colorful festival, the annual Balloon Stampede is held every May.
The Walla Walla Valley is a rainbow of scenic beauty -- golden hillsides melting into broad expanses of crimson fields. Lush evergreens casting shadows over backcountry trails during noon-day sun. And the many waters which give the region its name sparkle as they flow to the mighty Snake and Columbia rivers.
The Valley’s reputation for producing wines of superb quality took root in 1977 when the first present-day winery was established. In 1984, the region was federally recognized as a unique American Viticulture Area. It was the second Washington State AVA and at the time, home to just four wineries and 60 acres of vineyards.
Adding to the enjoyment of a trip is finding unique dining experiences. The Walla Walla Valley will afford you that opportunity with options to please every palate. Here you will find Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Italian and American home-style cooking. Whether you want to enjoy a great meal in a casual setting or gourmet food in an elegant atmosphere you will find a dining experience to satisfy your palette and budget.
